Galenea will use Partek Genomics Suite to analyze exon array data from their ground-breaking studies in schizophrenia and calcineurin, a serine/threonine protein phosphatase. Technologies developed by MIT and Rockefeller University, from which the company was formed, focus on the treatment of schizophrenia using calcineurin-related treatments. Calcineurin-related treatments are thought to be useful in treating and understanding schizophrenia because calcineurin dysfunction within the brain can contribute to the development of schizophrenia.
Partek GS is designed to import, analyze, and visualize high-dimensional genomic data. It is Affymetrix GeneChip-compatible⢠for exon, gene expression, chromosomal copy number, and tiling array analysis. Partek GS can analyze SNP data as well.
