St. Louis, Missouri - December 19, 2006 - The Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) has purchased Partek Genomics Suite (Partek GS) software Partek Incorporated announced today.

The Functional Genomics lab at FMI will use Partek Genomics Suite to import, analyze, and visualize high-dimensional tiling and exon array data from studies done in the Institute’s core focus areas of epigenetics, growth control, and neurobiology. Partek GS was chosen because the Functional Genomics lab houses an Affymetrix GeneChip microarray facility that is available to all researchers at the Institute, and Partek Genomics Suite is Affymetrix GeneChip-compatibleTM for exon, gene expression, chromosomal copy number, and tiling array analysis. The Friedrich Miescher Institute, located in Basel, Switzerland, is part of the Novartis Funding Program and is a founding member of the Swiss Array Consortium.

Partek Incorporated is a leading provider of statistical analysis and interactive data visualization software for the scientific research community. Partek software enables researchers to quickly identify and quantify patterns in data, including data resulting from genomic and proteomic studies, high-throughput screening campaigns, and computer aided drug design.
