Partek uses industry standard FLEXnet license manager to provide cost effective license management. Partek licenses can be tailored to fit the needs of one individual as well as the needs of a large institution with many users.

Node-locked Licensing

Licenses can be locked to a specific machine to ensure software access for critical departmental and/or globally accessible server machines. The node-locked license allows the benefit of always having a license available to ensure that licenses are for critical projects, shared computation servers, web servers, or application servers. Please note that node-locked licenses cannot be installed on Linux machines or terminal servers.

Concurrent, Floating Licensing

Licenses can alternatively be configured to float across a network, independent of the operating platform and can run on multiple platforms at the same time. The benefit of the floating license is that Partek can be installed on many machines, while only requiring enough licenses to satisfy the maximum number of concurrent users. They are extremely cost effective since a license is only consumed while the software is being used and is not required for installation.

• Global - A floating license can be configured as a global license that allows users at an official off-site location to use the same licenses as the on-site users, without purchasing separate licenses for the off-site facility.
• Groups - Additionally, floating licenses can be assigned to groups, allowing a user to reserve a subset of the licenses for a particular group, machine, or network, while allowing the remaining licenses to float freely.
