Application Developer

Application Developers at Partek work with customers and Field Application Specialists to develop new, cutting-edge applications within Partek software. The successful candidate will have extensive design and implementation skills as well as experience implementing scientific software applications.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Strong background in computational methods, mathematics, statistics
  • Ability to work successfully in project groups

Systems Developer

Systems Developers at Partek provide software infrastructure for our development platform, systems development for internal and external applications (including our web site), as well as integration interfaces with external software. The successful candidate will have broad software engineering skills and experience in multi-platform application environments.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Experience with database, web, and systems integration
  • Experience on multiple platforms (e.g. UNIX, Windows)

User Interface Developer

UI Developers at Partek develop user interfaces that are easy to use and design and implement the look and feel of the user experience. The successful candidate will have extensive design and implementation skills and experience designing scientific software user interfaces and scientific visualization.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Experience with Tcl/Tk a plus

Graphics Developer

Graphics Developers at Partek provide visualizations for statistically interesting data. The successful candidate will have extensive design and implementation skills and experience designing scientific software user interfaces and scientific visualization.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Experience with OpenGL on multiple platforms

Bioinformatics Data Management Developer

Bioinformatics Data Management Developers at Partek define, organize, manage, and control flexible interfaces to biological data for high performance algorithms. The successful candidate will have practical design experience and solid implementation skills in developing data management components for large scientific data sets.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Strong background in developing data management methods for large scientific data sets
  • Experience with microarray data formats and library files a plus

Statistician

Statisticians at Partek develop statistical applications, assist with planning and assessment of projects, and consult with customers and collaborators on the proper application of statistical techniques. The successful candidate will have strong computer skills and the ability to relate statistical concepts and applications to statistical and non-statistical Partek users.

Required qualifications:

  • M.S. (or higher) in Statistics or Mathematics with 4+ years experience in statistics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think analytically and to write technical material
  • Travel an average of five days per month to conduct training & consulting at customer sites

Account Manager

Account Managers at Partek prepare and deliver presentations to customers, direct internal resources including pre-sales and post-sales services and contracts, and conduct follow-up with customers to track satisfaction levels and uncover additional customer needs. The successful candidate will have knowledge of advanced strategic sales techniques and have an ability to relate technical concepts to applications and users needs.

Required qualifications:

  • B.S. in Science, Business, or related discipline and a background in life sciences or technology
  • 3+ years experience in the sales or marketing of computer software solutions (including related training products and services)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel on a frequent basis
  • Location: US - St. Louis; Europe

Field Application Specialist

Field Application Specialists at Partek support customer inquiries, give software training, teach at customer sites, and attend trade shows on a frequent basis. The successful candidate will have higher-level technical software skills, general knowledge in biology, and ability to do statistical data analysis.

Required qualifications:

  • M.S. in Biology or closely related field with a background in life sciences
  • Ability to consult with customer in defining user requirements
  • Knowledge of gene/exon expression, SNP, mass spectrometry
  • Travel 25% time for customer field consulting, support and user training
